​At New Bark City, we believe every life deserves a dignified final chapter. Trina’s Angel Wings Suite is a sacred space dedicated to our residents with terminal diagnoses or advanced age. Named after our beloved Trina—who we fought to save only to discover her cancer was too advanced to cure—this suite represents a promise: You are no longer waiting for a home. You are home.
​The Comfort Care Protocol
​When a resident’s journey shifts from recovery to hospice, our nursing mission shifts to total comfort and quality of life:
​Symptom & Pain Management: We utilize a "Comfort First" medical plan. For residents on steroids or facing chronic illness, we provide specialized "Freezer Treats" to soothe heavy panting and provide sensory relief.
​The "Best Day" Philosophy: We don't count the days; we make the days count. Whether it’s a favorite meal from the New Bark City Cookbook or a quiet afternoon in the sun, we ensure their last season is filled with joy.
​The "Never Alone" Vow: No resident will ever face their transition alone. They are surrounded by familiar scents and the gentle touch of a caregiver until their very last breath.
​The Forever Home Mantle
​Our commitment to our residents does not end when they pass. Once a dog enters the Angel Wings Suite, they have found their forever family. We honor their memory by keeping them "home" on our Memorial Mantle. Following cremation, their remains stay with us in the facility, ensuring they are always surrounded by the love and life of the rescue they called home.
